Charles and Shirley Smith of Wetzel County,
New Martinsville has been busy for over 25 years creating their wooden
toys. Charles was once a construction worker and used his time
in the winter (when work was slow) to tone his woodworking skills.
With their children (Kevin, Cindy, and Cheryl) many toys were made
for them by their Dad. Shirley was a school teacher, but gave
that occupation up to work full time along with her husband. Now
this once hobby is a full-time business.

Toys creates hand-crafted toys from poplar wood and accented with
other West Virginia hardwoods such as Black Walnut, Cherry, and Oak.
The Smith's take great pride in their work and demand that each piece
is safe, is of excellent quality, and reasonably priced for their
customers. With this goal in place, the toys allow children to use
their imagination and also give them hours of entertainment.
